Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us

Hebrews 12:1

We must overcome the sin which Hebrews 12:1 says “so easily entangles us.”

Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well

Galatians 6:1

Galatians 6:1 commits us to the work of restoring individuals.

Jesus came on a mission to save our souls and make us more like Him. Biblical counseling takes you through taking off the old man put on the new man (Ephesians 4:22-24).

The process of change is better accomplished with wise counselors:

Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.

Proverbs 15:22

Because our overall aim is to bring glory to God, we desire to reconcile the lost, give hope to the fainthearted, release those who are captivated by sinful desires so they can experience the goodness that God has promised to all those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

Therefore, when anyone comes to Biblical Counseling we commit to hear the problem, gather as much information as possible in relation to that problem, then offer wise and loving counsel on how to solve the problem biblically. We desire to confront the problem out of concern for the individual, not out of judgement, not to harm the person, but in order to “restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness…” (Gal 6:1). Once one understands what God requires, true restoration and change can take place which brings hope and encouragement for the individual to move forward.
