Pastor Jon Epting
Lead Pastor, Desert Springs Church
Pastor Jon Epting grew up for the majority of his life in Memphis, TN. There, he attended Bellevue Baptist Church under the preaching of Adrian Rogers.
At the age of 9, Jon heard the gospel clearly, and received the gracious gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
A significant part of Jon’s calling was a statement Dr. Rogers had made when Jon was in high school. He said, “I believe every Christian should first consider full time ministry and then if God directs elsewhere to follow Him there.” So when the time came, the Lord called and Jon gladly surrendered to that call.
Jon holds a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (MABTS) in Memphis, TN and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling. Jon has served in various ministry outlets throughout many years. From Music Ministry to Recreation Ministry at Bellevue Baptist Church to working as a janitor and a Ministerial Intern at Kirby Woods Baptist Church (also, in Memphis).
Before coming to Desert Springs Baptist Church, Jon served as pastor at the First Baptist Church in Tyronza, Arkansas.

Jon has served alongside his wife, Sherryl, of nine years. He has pastored a total of 5 years and is seeing God change him and direct him in wonderful ways. Jon and Sherryl have three boys, Liam (6), Ezra (3), and Phineas (8 mo).
